On "Sea Chateau" it's all about you and your enjoyment. That is what Carlos, Maribel and Debbie are all about. They are there to make sure that every minute of your stay on board "Sea Chateau" is truly magical.

Carlos and Maribel are a professional Captain/Engineer and Chef/Stewardess Team that has been operating large private and charter yachts worldwide for the last twenty years. They are now the proud owners/operators of "Sea Chateau:" one of the most successful, comfortable, stable, fast and well equipped sailing catamarans in the Virgin Islands crewed charter fleet. With their charm, experience and passion for excellence, they will make your sailing vacation in the Caribbean the experience of a life time. Maribel was born in Caracas, Venezuela; the daughter of Spanish immigrants from the Canary Islands and Carlos was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan and grew up in Rockville, Maryland. Carlos comes from a background in materials engineering, acoustics and noise control and Maribel was a professional Architect. After enjoying successful careers and marrying 26 years ago, they hung their diplomas, sold all their land possessions, purchased their first sailboat and embarked on the voyage of pursuing their dream of life on the ocean. Since then they have operated many private and charter yachts, from small sailing sloops to 120' mega yachts and have sailed thousands of miles through the waters of the Caribbean, the Bahamas, the Atlantic coast of the United States, Brasil, the Mediterranean and even the Orinoco River. They are both fluent in English, Spanish, Italian, and conversational in Portuguese. Carlos holds an International Master of Yachts 200 ton Ocean license and is also trained in Marine Fire Fighting, Diesel Mechanics and First Aid. His hobbies range from being an avid sport fisherman to a passionate photographer and a classic rock and jazz music enthusiast. Maribel is a professionally trained Chef, graduated from the Gaga Culinary Institute under the guidance of French Master Chef Laureant Cantineaux and is also trained in Silver Service. The three years spent in Tuscany, Italy while supervising the construction of a Benetti 120' mega yacht and their recent travels to Sicily and Sardinia, have given Maribel the opportunity of learning the traditional Italian cooking techniques, native ingredients and well kept family secrets, all of which complement her Spanish and Latin/Caribbean heritage to provide you with an exciting, delicious and beautifully presented culinary experience in every meal. Maribel's hobbies range from handcrafts and painting to water skiing and learning languages. After a life time sailing the oceans of the world Carlos and Maribel have finally decided to come back to their backyard and favorite playground: the British Virgin Islands. Their experience, knowledge and passion for the Caribbean Islands are your best guarantee of a fantastic and unique vacation.

On occasions, depending on the time of the year, the number of guests and her availability, Carlos and Maribel will be joined by Debbie Clark. Debbie was born in Louisville, Kentucky, where she grew up running small power boats in the crystal clear lakes. In her twenties she moved south to the Caribbean where she has lived most of her life. She learned to sail in St. Croix and has captained all kinds of boats ranging from racing sail yachts and private mega yachts to commercial tug boats. She is currently living in Tortola and knows the Virgin Islands like the palm of her hand. She holds a USCG 100 ton license, and has not only captained many charter yachts in the BVI's but has also logged thousands of miles of open water sailing while delivering yachts to and from the East Coast of the USA, the Bahamas, the Caribbean and also the Pacific Islands. She loves to share her extensive sailing skills. For several years she did "learning to sail" charters for ladies that were very successful. She is also a certified Open Water PADI diver and knows the best diving/snorkeling spots in the islands! She's also an active kite surfer and paddle boarder. Debbie's experience, knowledge and friendly and kind manner are your sure ticket to a great sailing vacation. She has known Carlos and Maribel for 20 years and they have sailed together many, many times. She is without doubt a great addition to the Sea Chateau Team. Whether she is captaining the yacht, accompanied by one of her extraordinary chef team mates, or as part of the All Star team with Carlos and Maribel, Debbie will certainly make your stay on board "Sea Chateau" even more enjoyable.

Everything is special; specially done for you, your family and friends. The first time you visit Carlos and Maribel on board "Sea Chateau" they will spend just the right amount of time with you on the phone and through emails to make sure they know exactly what you and your guests like and dislike. He will make sure all the necessary elements are on board for you and will probably even surprise you with one of his own delicious tropical concoctions. On board "Sea Chateau" you are the star. Maribel is an extremely versatile Chef and her main objective is to please her guests. Feel like Mexican today? No problem. Let Maribel know and she will cook up a Mexican culinary fiesta for you. Feel more like Italian? Great!! Maribel will certainly dazzle you with her fabulous homemade Italian specialties. Or...what about a barbeque? Well...now you really made the Captain happy!! That's Carlos's department and he will serve you the best Rib Eye or Filet Mignon steak, cooked exactly to your specs and paired with a buttery, flaky lobster tail fished that same day. And don't worry, if you or your guests have any special culinary preferences, like vegan, vegetarian, Kosher or any culinary allergies, just let us know and we will take care of everything.
